You have been here for quite some time, and we think we owe you a story. The story of our name is also, in many ways, the story of why Reyaa began.
What you see as a name, “Reyaa” is much more to us. And hopefully, with time, it will come to mean something to you too.
It started as something simple. Fluid, feminine and open-ended. This was our vision for the brand, and Reyaa seemed to capture it beautifully. My mother’s name begins similarly too, which, honestly, was also a motivating factor. It made the name feel personal even before the brand had fully taken shape. But today, it holds so much more.
Reyaa began because I felt there was something missing, as most brands often do.
Having lived in Jaipur, close to its artisans and surrounded by its colours, architecture and craftsmanship, I felt deeply connected to Indian craft. I was inspired and mesmerised by it, but I did not have the vocabulary to convey what it meant to me.
I wanted something unmistakably Indian, but not so bound to convention that I could not understand it or make it my own. So began the journey of building that vocabulary, letter by letter, piece by piece and colour by colour. Our first collection, Rang, became the beginning of that language.
I needed a connector, and somehow, no one was offering it. Something that felt one with my country, but not immensely traditional. Something valuable, but not reserved for a milestone. Something I could wear without waiting for an occasion or needing a reason. Reyaa became that connector.
The first two letters “re”, are what make the name especially meaningful to me.
To look again. To rethink. To reinterpret. To return to something without returning to it unchanged.
For us, it means looking at silver again. Looking at Indian craft again. Rethinking what jewellery can look like, when it can be worn and what it can mean to the woman choosing it.
To define is often to limit.
Modern women move through multiple roles, inherited expectations and changing ideas of identity. They are often expected to meet standards they did not choose for themselves. With Reyaa, I wanted to build a world where I did not have to disregard my identity in order to shape it for myself. A world where I could remain rooted in where I came from, while deciding what that inheritance looked like on me.
Through something I could wear ordinarily, but with value.
Without an occasion. Without permission. Without needing it to signify anything beyond what I wanted it to.
Over time, Reyaa began to hold the values we wanted the brand itself to embody.
Rooted. Expressive. Yours. Artisanal. And, most importantly, Alive.
Rooted in Indian craft, but never restricted by it.
Expressive enough to become a language of your own.
Yours because it is chosen by you, worn by you and given meaning by you.
Artisanal because every piece carries the hands, time and intention of the people who make it.
Alive because heritage should not remain fixed behind glass. It should move, change and evolve with the women who wear it, through their dreams, their aspirations, their celebrations and even their most ordinary days.
Changing with you. Through you. Becoming yours. Today, we welcome you to Reyaa.
Rooted in what came before. Alive in the woman wearing it now.
